Following repeated violations of the ceasefire dated April 8 and the continuation of aggressive measures by the Zionist regime against Lebanon and the Islamic Republic of Iran, including collusion with the U.S. "terrorist army" in attacks over the past two weeks on Iranian ships and targets in the country's southern regions, as well as collaboration with the U.S. regime in maritime banditry against the Iranian nation, Iran's armed forces struck several military targets in the north of Occupied Palestine on the evening of Sunday, June 7, 2026. This operation was executed within the framework of the inherent right to legitimate defense in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
Emphasizing the serious determination of the Iranian nation to decisively defend its security and national interests wherever deemed necessary, the Islamic Republic of Iran recalls that the ceasefire in Lebanon is an integral part of the understanding of the ceasefire dated April 8, 2026. The statement asserts that the government of the United States bears direct responsibility for the ceasefire violations by the Zionist regime, the ensuing consequences, and any escalation of tensions in the region.
The Islamic Republic of Iran warns that any villainous adventurism by the Zionist regime against Lebanon or the Islamic Republic of Iran will be met with a crushing and comprehensive response from the brave armed forces of Iran.
