Seventy percent of Rahian-e- Noor participants are youth: Maj Gen. Bagheri

Chief of General Staff of Iranian Armed Forces highlighted that most of the people attending Rahian-e-Noor are young people.

Iran Press/Iran news: Referring to the importance of 'Rahian-e-Noor' national plan, Major General Mohammad Bagheri in the Policy Council meeting of the Rahian-e- noor national plan said: "Seventy percent of pilgrims are the young people."

Bagheri pointed to the results of the 'Holy Defence' and said, "What ever we have is deeply taken from Holy Defence. We must try to show the truth."

Mentioning the way to stabilize and long live Islamic revolution is following martyrdom and martyrs, he said: "Investing in Holy Defence is so valuable. Security and safety of pilgrims in Rahian-e-Noor is so important. The enemies are trying to hurt the real lovers and fans of Islamic Revolution."

Brigadier General Gholam Hossein Gheybparvar commander of Basij Force also said in the meeting: "Rahian-e- Noor is really important. We send many university and school students to war stricken places. We have some needs to be covered."

Head of Iran's Emergency Medical Services Pir-Hossein Kolivand as other members in a meeting mentioned: "We roughly settled 27 temporary clinics. We have 600 nourozi camps helping those in need. There has been no contagious diseases till this time. We compete in this regard with the world."

He continued: "We also set classes to train our groups and caravans."

'Rahian-e Noor' (meaning voyagers to light) is name for state-run tours of south and southwestern Iran where used to be the war zone with Iraq in the 1980s. It is intended to keep alive the memory of Iranian efforts and lives lost during the Holy Defense.104/209
