Iran Press/Iran News: "Iran has filed a new complaint in the International Court of Justice against the effects of inhumane US sanctions on Iranian people amid the coronavirus outbreak," said Iran's Vice President for Legal Affairs Laya Joneydi.
In separate letters to the UN Secretary-General, Director-General of the World Health Organization, and President of the United Nations International Children's Fund (UNICEF), Iran's Minister of Health Saeed Namaki, called on the international community not to remain silent in the face of oppressive sanctions against the Iranian people.
Aَlso in a letter to the UN Secretary-General, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif had stressed the need to lift all US unilateral and illegal sanctions against Iran and added that US sanctions and preconditions for the sale of drugs and medical equipment have seriously hampered efforts to combat the spread of the coronavirus in Iran.
Following the outbreak of the coronavirus in the world and in Iran, a large number of officials from various countries, have called for the lifting of US unilateral and illegal sanctions against Iran.
Washington's unilateral, oppressive and inhuman sanctions, which include basic, necessary, and even medical items, have caused many problems for the Iranian people, especially those infected with COVID-19 disease.
However, US President Donald Trump insists on his maximum pressure campaign on Iran even amid coronavirus.
