Tehran (IP) - Iran has officially responded to allegations made by Kuwait concerning the sovereignty of the Arash field, a point highlighted during the Emir of Kuwait's recent visit to Egypt. Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry, strongly refuted the claims laid out in the final statement of the visit, expressing disappointment over Kuwait's repetitive unilateral assertions.

Iran PressIran news: Kanaani emphasized Iran's historical rights to the Arash field, underscored by past negotiations, and urged Kuwait to engage in dialogue aimed at forging a sustainable agreement grounded in mutual benefits and friendly cooperation. He criticized Kuwait's approach of issuing repeated statements as legally ineffective and counterproductive, suggesting such tactics do not alter the rights of the field from a legal standpoint.

Further addressing the issue, Kanaani advised the Kuwaiti government to refrain from using political and media maneuvers in dealing with the sensitive legal and technical matters concerning the Arash field. He reiterated Iran's commitment to regional goodwill and encouraged neighboring states to adopt a similar stance in promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation and understanding.
