Tehran(IP) - WHO representative in Iran implied on Thursday that despite Trump's recent move against the international body, good steps have been taken by UN-based organization amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Iran Press/Iran news: WHO representative in the Islamic Republic of Iran Christoph Hamelmann in an exclusive interview with Iran Press news agency on Thursday regarding Trump' s recent move on Word Health organization referred to the 73rd Session of the World Health Organization's (WHO) held this month as a unique event which was held for the first time virtually where COVID-19 was the main topic of discussion.

Hamelmann went on to explain that during the event all the member states had the opportunities in all sessions to make comments on what has been achieved as well as the role of the WHO in containing the COVID-19 at the various phases with the real overwhelming majority of the statements of the ministers and the delegations of the various countries served as the high acknowledgment of WHO approach in COVID-19 pandemic.

"It was acknowledged by everybody that there were important issues to learn from such pandemic regarding the various phases and experiences in various countries", highlighted WHO official.

Hammelman also explained further about the resolution adopted by all the member states so that there would be the time for reviewing as well as reevaluating what has been done by all the member states as well as the one carried out by WHO in supporting them.

WHO official concluded to call all of the previous efforts as an improvement amid the COVID-19 crisis.
