Tehran (IP) - Head of Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Health announced that so far, 143,849 people in the country have definitely been infected with the coronavirus, and 112,988 of total infected people have been recovered.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's Ministry of Health Spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour on Thursday, May 28 reported on the latest data on the coronavirus in the country and the deaths caused by the virus.

He said: "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to May 28 in the country, 2258 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed in the country and the number of patients with this disease reached 143,849."

Fortunately, 112,988 patients have recovered and have been discharged so far, Jahanpour added.

The Spokesman said, "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 63 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, and 7,627 people have lost their lives in the country to date."

He stated, "2,543 patients are in a critical condition."

So far, 876,492 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country," the Health Ministry spokesman said.
