The IRGC Public Relations stated in the statement: Following the Zionist regime's ceasefire violation in southern Lebanon, the treaty-breaking U.S. regime, as always, breached its own commitments hours ago. Under the pretext of preventing a violating ship from using an illegal route in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. launched an airstrike on the coasts of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The statement added that the IRGC Navy targeted the positions of the U.S. terrorist army in the region in response to this aggression.
The IRGC Public Relations stressed that, based on Article 5 of the Islamabad Agreement, the arrangements for controlling transit in the Strait of Hormuz are the responsibility of the Islamic Republic of Iran. However, by inciting various parties, the U.S. was attempting to violate this commitment, for which an appropriate response was dealt, and this will be the case from now on. If the aggression is repeated, our response will be broader than this.
