The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said that Iran now possesses 15 types of advanced centrifuges, all of them built domestically.

Iran PressIran news: The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi made the remark in a news conference in Natanz city in Isfahan province.

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) added: "We entered the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) talks to project Iran's right to use peaceful nuclear energy."

"Iran is capable of designing and manufacturing advanced centrifuges," the head of AEOI stressed.

Salehi said Iran has fired up a chain of 30 more advanced IR6 centrifuges.

"Iran can now produce 5 KG enriched Uranium per day," he added.

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said that Iran possessed 5 types of advanced centrifuges prior to JCPOA.

AEOI chief said that Iran was working on IR6 centrifuges for 5 years prior to JCPOA.

Salehi said: "We have brought the number of new centrifuges to 15 machines. Approximately 3 to 4 of these machines are completely new and they have not been manufactured before. We have been able to create them in the past two months, such as IR-9."

The Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEO), said, "In these political challenges, we didn't need to make a prototype of IR-9 machines. There was no need to do this, but when we faced the challenge, we were able to produce it in less than 2 months. We have produced a sample of our new IR-9 centrifuge and a sample of the IRS."

Salehi noted, "To reach the 190 separative work units (SWUs) we require 300 tons of Yellowcake Uranium in a year. We have shown that there is no limit for Iran in achieving SWUs. We have the capacity to produce 60 new centrifuge machines per day which equals 600 SWUs. Therefore, in a year, we can boost the capacity of uranium enrichment to 190,000 SWUs. But we are not going to do it now."

The Head of the AEOI said: "JCPOA was the result of Iran's agreement with 6 other countries and the purpose of this agreement was to protect Iran's full nuclear rights".

Referring to the lack of cooperation from the US side and some difficulties in cooperation between Iran and the EU, he added, "They wanted to prevent Iran from pursuing peaceful nuclear activities."

"So they put restrictions on Iran. These limitations included the time limitation and limitations on the number of equipment used in the nuclear industry," Salehi highlighted.

Noting all equipment have been made by Iranian experts and domestically-built centrifuges, he further added, " building IR-6 centrifuge indicates the abilities and capabilities of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization."

Salehi went on to say: "We have installed 15 new-generation centrifuges in the past two months which is a very big achievement. Before JCPOA, our capacity for uranium enrichment was around 11000 Separative work units (SWUs). After the third step, it reaches 8600 SWUs".

Salehi added, "making any decision about the fourth incremental step in reducing our commitment to JCPOA is the responsibility of President Rouhani."

He further noted, "We are producing Uranium for our power plant fuels and we also keep our uranium production for our reactors."
