Syria has confirmed that the continuous attacks by the US-led “international coalition” come to complete the cycle of aggression in Syria and go hand-in-hand with repeated acts of Israeli aggression, the last of which occurred on Thursday evening in al-Keswa area, south of Damascus.

Iran PressMiddle East: In a letter addressed on Friday to both UN Secretary-General and the UN Security Council on US and Israeli attacks on the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic, the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said that warplanes of the illegal US-led coalition continued their brutal crimes against innocent civilians in Syria.

The ministry said that the continuation of these crimes is a clear indication of United States’ total disregard for the values of humanity and disdain for international law, SANA News Agency reported.

It added that this comes at a time when some countries remain silent regarding these massacres which are war crimes and crimes against humanity, turn a blind eye to the killing of thousands of civilians, the destruction of entire villages and the displacement of their people and continue submission to the hostile intentions of the United States through their participation in the coalition which allegedly was formed to combat terrorism while in fact it targets only civilians, women, children and the elderly.

The ministry concluded by saying that Syria condemns these crimes and repeated acts of aggression, and demands the UN Security Council and the UN member states to shoulder their responsibilities through a serious and an immediate action to put an end to them, condemn them, stop the repeated violations of international law and to fulfill their duty to maintain international peace and security.

According to the latest statistics of Deir Ezzor governorate, since the beginning of 2018, the total number of the residents in the province is 1,037,037.

After breaking the siege imposed by ISIS terrorists on the city of Deir Ezzor in early September last year, the government in cooperation with civil society organizations and professional associations have worked hard to restore life to the city and its surrounding countryside after years of terrorism.

On 29 March this year, the Syrian Army found another weapons-making workshop, belonging to ISIS (Daesh) terrorists following government forces' mopping up operations in Deir Ezzor province.

Since it was illegally formed outside the jurisdiction of the UN Security Council in 2014, under the pretext of fighting ISIS, the alliance has been committing massacres against innocent civilians, killing hundreds of people and injuring others.  211 /105
