The Pakistani government has summoned Afghan charge d'affaires in Islamabad following the deadly terrorist attack on police forces in the town of Bannu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Pakistan's Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the use of Afghan territory against Pakistan's security by terrorists.The attack was carried out by a suicide bomber, killing 15 Pakistani security forces and wounding four others.

Pakistani security authorities say the attack was planned and organized by terrorist elements based in Afghanistan.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry stressed that the Afghan interim government should prevent terrorist groups from using its territory against Pakistan and prosecute the perpetrators of the attacks.

Pakistan also called for immediate and effective measures by Afghanistan to curb the activities of terrorist groups in the border areas.
