The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs vehemently condemned the terrorist act by the Zionist regime following the assassination of Izz ad-Din al-Haddad, the commander-in-chief of the Al-Qassam Brigades, along with his wife and child. The ministry extended its condolences on the martyrdom of Haddad and his family to Hamas, the resilient Palestinian nation, Muslims, and free people worldwide.

The statement described the assassination as part of a broader criminal scheme by Israel aimed at the colonial erasure of Palestine. It further accused the United States of being an accomplice to every single one of these crimes, citing Washington’s role as the primary military, financial, and political supporter of the apartheid Zionist regime.

According to the ministry, the cowardly assassination of Palestinian leaders and elites is a clear indication of the regime's desperation and helplessness. Despite committing heinous atrocities and massacring hundreds of thousands of innocent people over the past eight decades, the regime has failed to extinguish the spirit of resistance against occupation, apartheid, and brutal colonialism among the Palestinian people. On the contrary, Palestinians are now more determined than ever to fight for their human rights, particularly the right to self-determination.

The statement concluded that the physical elimination of resistance commanders and Palestinian elites will not undermine the doctrine and path of resistance; rather, it will serve as an inspiration for the followers and fighters striving for the dignity and freedom of Palestine.
