Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei

The government spokesman has emphasized that the government will ensure the security of next February's parliamentary elections, and will make sure that there is enough capacity so that anyone who wants to vote will be able to vote in the election.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking on Wednesday morning on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting, Ali Rabiei commented further by saying: "It is important that people feel their representative or candidate has registered and is contesting the election."

Commenting on combating fraud and corruption, Ali Rabiei said the fight against fraud and corruption is a long-term one and it must not be biased or one-sided, Iran Press reported.

"A serious fight against corruption must encompass all aspects of corruption, and tackling the root causes of corruption," he added.

"It must be a structured anti-corruption drive and its objectives must be clear. The fight against corruption must not polarise society, and every and each corrupt individual must be tackled and prosecuted in courts of law," the spokesman noted.

Commenting on Muslim Unity Week, the government spokesman said in a world where extremism is casing problems and hurting people, Muslim Unity Week can be a very useful model for Islamic nations to follow. 101/211
