Kerman (IP) - The Iranian president Hassan Rouhani has called for the need to boost trade and economic and business ties with other countries, stressing that Iran's export has actually increased by 15 percent in the past year.

Iran PressIran news: Addressing an audience of local officials and top businessmen in Kerman province on Tuesday morning, President Rouhani said: "we must strive to make the quality of our exports high so that we build worldwide trust in Iranian exports, Iranian brands, and Iranian-manufactured products."

The president said: "Despite the sanctions against us we have actually increased the export of our copper in the past year."

The president also stressed the importance of trade and boosting economic and business ties with other countries.

President Rouhani also announced that Iran's copper export have risen by 15 percent in the last year.

Addressing the signatory countries of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), particularly the European signatories president Rouhani said: "When they honor their commitments under the JCPOA, we will certainly honour our commitments.

"It is extremely important that Iran should remain within the JCPOA; this is very important to us," he added.
