Hamadan municipality and UNESCO sign cooperation memo

Cooperation memorandum signed in Hamadan Silk Road Summit between Iran's ancient city of Hamadan's Municipalities and cultural commission of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

Iran PressIran News: Iran’s ancient city of Hamedan hosts the 6th meeting of the Coordinating Committee on the Serial Transnational World Heritage Nomination of the Silk Roads from September 23 to 29.

The cooperation memo says that the Cultural commission of UNESCO is committed to observe the subject of the cooperation memo with its national and international capacities, Iran Press reported.

Also according to the cooperation memo, Hamadan Municipality is committed to provide a budget for agreed different fields of cooperation which is in charge.  

Two sides agreed for achieving final goals in every subject of cooperation form a joint committee.

In this ceremony the special photo of Silk Way unveiled.

The International Conference on Silk Road is currently underway in Hamedan northwestern city of Iran in the presence of Silk Road members.

The UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the UNESCO Cluster Office in Tehran, in cooperation with the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO and the Iranian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts organized the 6th meeting of the Coordinating Committee of the Serial Transnational World Heritage Nomination of the Silk Roads in Hamedan, Iran.

Representatives from Iran, Afghanistan, China, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Pakistan, the Republic of Korea, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as Bhutan as an observer attending the meeting.
