Rouhani returns to Tehran from Ankara

Iranian President returned to Tehran from Ankara on Tuesday, where he attending a trilateral summit on Syria.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani attended the fifth round of a three-way summit with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Ankara on Monday.

Rouhani’s visit was upon the official invitation of his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdo?an.

In addition to delivering a speech in the summit, the Iranian president also held a separate meeting with presidents of Russia and Turkey.

The summit in the Turkish capital dealt with the situation in Syria and how to end the eight-year-conflict in the country.

The Astana peace process is aimed at ending the Syrian conflict. The process was launched in January 2017 by Russia, Iran, and Turkey. So far 13 rounds of talks have been held in Astana, Kazakhstan.
