The head of Iran's Presidential Office has emphasized that relations with neighboring countries have always been a top priority for Tehran.

Iran Press/Iran news: Responding to Iran Press correspondent's question about the effects of International North-South Transport Corridor on Iran-Russia relations, the head of Presidential Office, Mahmoud Vaezi said: "The relationship between Iran and its neighbors is very important, Iran's economic, political, trade and tourism relationships with neighboring countries have always been a top priority, especially in the past six years."

"Base on the statics, the relationship between Iran and its neighbors have expanded during the past year. Iran's relationship with Russia is a strategic one in every area and the International North-South Transport Corridor can strengthen that relationship further. It facilitates exports and imports between Iran and Russia and it can also be used by several countries from India to various European countries. The corridor actually acts as a facilitator for many countries," Vaezi added.

Referring to the effects of the corridor on sanctions, the head of Iran's Presidential Office said that as much as we can expand our relations with neighboring countries, we can bypass the US-imposed sanctions more effectively.
