Iranian and Russian presidents met behind closed doors on the sidelines of the Fifth Round of Tripartite Summit of Iran, Russia, and Turkey in Ankara.

Iran Press/Asia: Iranian and Russian presidents, Hassan Rouhani and Vladimir Putin talked about bilateral ties and regional issues on the sidelines of the Fifth Round of Tripartite Summit of Iran, Russia, and Turkey in Ankara, sources close to the meeting said.

Relations between Iran and Russia are currently at a golden age, with the two countries having a consensus on many bilateral, regional and international issues, and contacts between officials in the two countries are ongoing at various levels, Iran Press reported.

President Rouhani who arrived in Ankara last night was welcomed by Turkish Foreign Ministry officials at the airport.

Iranian ministers of foreign affairs, energy, defense and agriculture, Mohammad Javad Zarif, Reza Ardakanian, Amir Hatami, and  Mahmoud Hojjati and the head of the central bank, Abdolnaser Hemmati, accompanied president Rouhani on the trip.
