2 boys shot dead in California, US shooting

Two boys were shot dead in another shooting in the US, this time in Northern California, while they were sitting in a van at an elementary school parking lot.

Iran Press/America: The victims, ages 11 and 14, were shot early Saturday in the west parking lot of Searles Elementary School, CNN reported citing the Union City Police Department.

They were in the parking lot at 1:26 a.m. when the incident happened, the New Haven Unified School District said in a statement. It said one was a school district student while the other was a former student.

While police said the shooting happened at the school parking lot, the school district said it was in or near the school parking lot.

The older boy died at the scene while the younger one died on the way to a trauma center. Police said they'll not release their names because they are minors.

Every year thousands of people lose their lives or get wounded by gunshot attacks. Based on official statistics there are around 270 to 300 million guns in the US, which is almost one gun for every American.

US President Donald Trump is one of the supporters of the gun lobby.
