Tehran (IP) - The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that it was too early for the Azerbaijani President to relate the embassy incident to Iran.

Iran PressIran news: In the armed attack of a person on the embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tehran on Friday, January 27, 2023, one security guard of the embassy was killed and two other guards were injured.

Reacting to Ilham Aliyev's comments about the embassy attack in Iran, Nasser Kanaani advised Aliyev on Sunday, saying that it was better to avoid any prejudice, politicization, and propaganda around the issue.

Following the recent incident at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tehran, Ilham Aliyev claimed yesterday, on the sidelines of the Munich security conference, that the person who attacked the embassy had connections with the Iranian governmental bodies.

Kanaani said that the Iranian officials had time and again said that the case was going through its legal procedures and that what was released so far about the incident was the explicit notes of the very gunmen.

The Islamic Republic of Iran was ready to provide the Azerbaijani side with the results of the investigation, Kanaani said and went on: " We are sure that with cooperation and a constructive approach, the Azerbaijani officials will receive the necessary answers regarding all the ambiguities and questions in their minds."

On the very Friday night, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahain visited the wounded in the embassy incident at Tehran's Shohadaye Tajrish Hospital.

Amir-Abdollahian recalled that the incident was not a terrorist one and the gunman merely carried out the attack with personal motivations.
