Astana (IP) – On the sidelines of the 6th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Astana, Kazakhstan, Iranian President in a meeting with his Azeri counterpart said that the Islamic Republic of Iran never tolerate any change in the region's historical and geopolitical borders.

Iran PressAsia: Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi met with his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev at the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) on Thursday. 

The President of Iran departed for Astana, Kazakhstan, to participate in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) on Wednesday afternoon.

Deputy Chief of Staff for Political Affairs to the Iranian President said: "Negotiating with Ilham Aliyev, Raisi rejected any changes in the historical borders, geopolitics of the region, and the transit route of Iran and Armenia."

According to Jamshidi, Raisi warned that any change in the borders would receive Iran's tough response and noted that it rejected Europe's military presence in the region in any form.

The sixth meeting of the heads of member states of the "CICA" Summit started on Thursday morning under the chairmanship of Kassym-Jomart  Tokayev, the president of Kazakhstan, and with the presence of Ebrahim Raisi and 10 other heads of the member states.

Before the official start of this meeting, the President of Kazakhstan took a souvenir photo, first individually and then as a group, with the heads and leaders present at this meeting.

In the sixth meeting of the heads of the CICA Summit, the proposal to turn it into an international organization was proposed by Kazakhstan.

Earlier today, President Ebrahim Raisi had met with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
