Iran Press/ Iran news: The President of Venezuela arrived in Iran on Friday at the head of a high-ranking delegation. On Saturday morning, Iran's President, Ebrahim Raisi, officially welcomed him at the Saadabad Cultural-Historical Complex.
After Maduro met with senior Iranian officials, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei received Venezuelan President.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated that Iran and Venezuela have managed to resist heavy pressures exerted by the United States.
Referring to the victory of the Venezuelan government and people in the struggle against the United States and the comprehensive war waged against Venezuela, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution pointed out that the resistance of the Venezuelan President and people is precious since it enhances the dignity and worthiness of a nation and a country and its leaders, and today the US view of Venezuela is different from the past.
Referring to the scientific and technological progress and initiatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran in recent years, Ayatollah Khamenei stated that these significant steps had been taken in a situation where the heaviest and most unprecedented sanctions and pressures were imposed on the Iranian nation which the Americans called "maximum pressure."
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the resistance of the Iranian people led to the failure of the policy of maximum pressure in such a way that one of the leading political officials of the United States recently used the term disgraceful defeat.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the conclusion that can be drawn from the resistance and success of the two nations of Iran and Venezuela is that the only way to cure the pressures is to stand and resist. At the same time, cooperation and relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Bolivarian government of Venezuela should be strengthened and closer.
Welcoming the signing of a 20-year cooperation document between Iran and Venezuela, Ayatollah Khamenei noted that pursuing and fully implementing the agreements for long-term cooperation is necessary.
Regarding the sincere cooperation between Iran and Venezuela, Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that the two countries do not have such close relations with any other country, and the Islamic Republic of Iran has shown that it takes risks in times of danger and takes the hands of its friends.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also praised Maduro's anti-Zionist stances, saying that his recent stances against the Zionist regime were correct and courageous.
