Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Secretary visited Tashkent; This afternoon, met with Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan, announced Iran's readiness to expand and deepen ties.

Iran PressAsia:  Ali Shamkhani expressed hope that signing an essential document on security cooperation between the two countries would pave the way for further success in overcoming common threats.

In the end, Iran's Shamkhani thanked Uzbekistan for its support for Iran's membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and expressed hope that the support would continue until Iran's membership process is finalized.

During the meeting, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed satisfaction with the signing of the document on security cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran and said: "It is necessary to increase the scheduled relationship between the security institutions of the two countries, the provisions of the document to be closely followed and implemented."

The President of Uzbekistan said the cooperation between Iran and Uzbekistan in establishing rail and road transport corridors through Turkmenistan and Afghanistan to southern Iran's high seas would bring significant economic benefits to the four countries.
