Africa (IP) - The Sudanese capital, Khartoum, has once again witnessed widespread protests against the presence of military officials in power.

Iran PressAfrica: The people of Khartoum took to the streets on Monday evening to protest in large numbers, chanting slogans condemning the martial law and the agreement reached between Army Chief of Staff Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok.

In the rally, Millions of Sudanese affirmed the formation of a fully civilian government in Sudan and the return of the army to the barracks.

Demonstrators in Khartoum blocked some streets in the Sudanese capital and set fire to tires, and Sudanese police fired tear gas at protesters and wounded several others.

The Sudanese people are protesting every week in Khartoum and other cities in the country against the presence of the military officials in the government and have emphasized that they will continue to demonstrate until the end of the military rule in Sudan.

Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Abdalla Hamdok signed a political agreement on November 21, 2021, to bring him back to power, which, this agreement like the military coup in Sudan, has met with widespread opposition.
