Syrian President and his wife have tested positive for COVID-19, the government announced on Monday.

Iran PressMiddle East: A brief statement from the Syrian presidency said  Bashar al-Assad and his wife, Asma al-Assad, took a PCR test after developing mild symptoms consistent with COVID-19. The result was positive, it said.

Both Assad and his wife are in a good condition and will work from home during a two or three-week quarantine period, the presidency said. It urged all Syrians to follow prevention measures against the coronavirus.
