Lebanese media and health authorities say the death toll from recent Israeli attacks has risen sharply, with hospitals overwhelmed as officials describe widespread damage across residential areas.

Lebanese media sources reported that the number of casualties from the latest Israeli strikes on Lebanon is “very high,” with initial figures ranging from several hundred killed and injured to more than 300 deaths according to some early estimates.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated in a media briefing that hospitals across the country are “filled with the bodies of victims” of the attacks, noting severe pressure on emergency facilities.

Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri condemned the strikes, calling them “clear war crimes,” and criticized the targeting of residential and civilian areas in Beirut and other parts of the country.

Meanwhile, Lebanese sources reported that Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri is safe despite Israeli strikes that targeted multiple locations, including Ain al-Tineh, the area where his residence is located.
