Tehran (IP) - The Italian ambassador in Tehran was summoned to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the Protecting Power of Canada in Tehran and notified him of Iran’s compliance against the Canadian government's human rights abuses on the Iranian people.

Iran PressIran News: Reza Nazar Ahari, Director General of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for US Affairs, summoned the Italian Ambassador to Tehran on Tuesday as the representative for Canada’s interests section to protest Iran's human rights abuses.

The Italian envoy was informed of the Iranian government's criticism against Canada’s human rights abuses and their double standards regarding respecting citizenship and consular rights of Iranian citizens living in Canada.

Nazarahari, noting that more than 400,000 Iranians living in Canada have been barred from receiving consular services over the past few years, said the Canadian government couldn’t continue to ignore requests to establish a consular office and evade this human responsibility and contrary to the human rights claims of this country.

"By turning the country into a haven for the world's economic corrupters and financial criminals, the Canadian government continues to shirk its responsibility to prosecute, arrest and extradite criminals," he said.

During the meeting, constant political acts and instrumental confrontations of  Canada as a human rights defender country criticized and notified.
