Iran Press/ Iran news: The US government announced on Friday, July 7, that it would provide Ukraine with cluster bombs which faced many reactions.
Human Rights Watch (HRW) announced that transferring cluster bombs to Ukraine would lead to the suffering of civilians for a long time.
The Spokesman for the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres also expressed hope that cluster bombs would not be used in the Ukraine war.
In an interview on Friday, US President Joe Biden said that sending cluster bombs to Ukraine was a "difficult decision," but "Ukraine needs these bombs."
Nasser Kanaani, the Iranian Foreign Minister's spokesman, reacted on July 9 to the US government's decision to provide Ukraine with cluster bombs and said that this action is another example of US destabilizing policy, as well as the export of weapons that indiscriminately contribute to more killing and destruction.
Since the beginning of the Ukrainian war, the Islamic Republic of Iran has called on both sides to avoid war and emphasized a political solution.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed the necessity of ending the war in Ukraine, suggesting a political solution instead, on Wednesday, July 5.
