President Hassan Rouhani stressed that Tehran welcomes deepening ties with Phnom Penh, adding "Iran and Cambodia have very good potentials for development of economic and trade relations”.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking on Tuesday in a meeting with the new non-resident Cambodian Ambassador while receiving his letter of credence, President Hassan Rouhani said, “Cambodia can play an important role in the further development of relations between Iran and the ASEAN member states,” Iran Press reported.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to develop its economic cooperation with Cambodia, the president continued.

The new non-resident ambassador of Cambodia to Tehran Yong Se Aan, said for his part, “Economic cooperation and friendship between the two countries are very close, and we should try to further deepen these ties”.

Stressing that Iran and Cambodia have had very similar and close points of view internationally, he added, "Cambodia supports Iran's stances and is seeking better, friendlier relations with the Islamic Republic”.

Cambodian Accredited Ambassador to Tehran Yong Se Aan on Tuesday presented a copy of his credentials to Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
