Iran Press/Iran news: In his meeting with the top commander of Pakistan's Army, General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani emphasized that "We should try to expand and strengthen relationships between Iran and Pakistan, " Iran Press reports, quoting presidential website.
"Iran has now extended the Peace Pipeline to the Pakistani border and is fully prepared to cooperate in various fields," Rouhani said in the meeting.
Pointing out to the recent regional developments, president Rouhani said Iran believes the relations with regional countries should be for peace, tranquility, and stability.
Rouhani went on to say that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan have great capacities and opportunities to deepen and expand mutual relations and cooperation, and the two countries can work together which is in the long-term interests of both nations.
Qamar Javed Bajwa, the top commander of the Pakistani Army, said during the meeting that Iran and Pakistan are two neighbouring countries and are brothers and friends, and no one can affect their relations.
The top Pakistani General went on to say that Pakistan will use all the different capacities and methods to develop trade and economic relations and is ready to enhance its current cooperation with Iran.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa who is heading a high-ranking military delegation is visiting Tehran to discuss bilateral ties in the fields of military, security, and defense with senior Iranian officials.
