Islamic Nobel Prize

The third round of Mustafa Prize, also known as the Islamic Nobel Prize, will be held in Tehran's Vahdat Hall to nominate two Muslim world's scholars for the prize.

Iran PressIran news: The Mustafa Prize is awarded every two years to scholars of the Muslim world to appreciate their modern and applied research and study.

The Mustafa Prize, approved by Iran's High Council of Cultural Revolution in 2012, to prepare the ground for the scientific and technological cooperation and development in Muslim societies.

The policy-making council for the prize includes the universities and large academic centers of Iran and the Muslim world. Iran's Pardis Technology Park in Tehran holds the Mustafa Prize ceremony.

The framework of the Mustafa Prize was inspired out of 300 international science and technology awards including the Nobel Prize, the Kavli Prize, the Queen Elizabeth Prize, the Fields Medal, the Japan Prize, and UNESCO Prize, as well as four domestic awards including the Khwarizmi, Razi, Farabi and Ibn Sina Prizes.

The award, many call it the Islamic Nobel, was founded on a clear understanding of the needs of the Islamic world's scholars.

The main focus of the Mustafa Prize is identifying and introducing the bests of science and technology of the Muslim world who are nominated from among Muslim scholars.

The enhancing cooperation on science and technology in Islamic countries with an emphasis on advanced technologies, preparing the ground for flourishing new Islamic civilization, fostering interaction and cooperation among the Islamic world's scholars, and introducing Mustafa Prize as one of the significant symbols of the scientific superiority globally are of the goals of the award.

The Mustafa Prize is awarded to nominees in four categories of communication and information, bio-medical, nano-technology, and general.

The Holy Prophet of Islam Muhammad (PBUH) always emphasized education, and that is why the Mustafa Prize has been blessed with one of the Islam founder's name.
