The speaker of the cultural commission of Iranian parliament (Majlis) has emphasized that the move by US officials, blacklisting the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization was very unwise and did not correspond to reality.

Iran Press/Iran news: Hojjat-ol-Islam Ahmad Azadikhah a spokesperson for the cultural commission of the Majlis, in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Tuesday said: "Not only the Iranian people, but the entire world realizes that the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps is a military, security, intelligence and cultural organization that is actively fighting terrorists in Syria, sacrificing the lives of its personnel who have been martyred to restore security and freedom in that country."

In further comments Azadikhah added: "Taking on the Takfiri terrorists of ISIS, Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) also helped restore security to Iraq by defeating the terrorists. The IRGC will do the same, and defeat terror groups in other countries as well."

He continued: "The move by the US officials was unwise, contrary to reality, and helped to further rally and unify the people, clerics, and political parties solidly behind the IRGC (Islamic Revolution Guard Corps)."

Azadikhah also added: "Although the parliament is composed of different political factions, but all the MPs including reformists, Omid List and independents are united by wearing IRGC uniforms. So it sends the unified message that wherever our enemies have done something against us, our unity increases."
