Speaker of Parliament, Ali Larijani,

The Speaker of Iran's parliament, Ali Larijani, has said that those who have invaded Yemen have now reached an impasse, a dead end.

Iran Press/ Iran news: Speaking at the open session of the Iranian parliament (Majlis) on Tuesday, Ali Larijani welcomed the government's third incremental step scaling back JCPOA commitments, and emphasised that the Majlis (parliament) supports this government's move.

Turning to Yemen, Larijani said the United States and Saudi Arabia have started most wars in the region in recent decades, including the current war in Yemen. Larijani added: "They have now reached a dead-end in Yemen."

In further remarks Larijani said: "If the United States thinks it can intimidate the Iranian nation by amassing its naval forces in the Persian Gulf, then it is sadly mistaken. The determined Iranian nation will not waiver, and will staunchly resist the United States. US military forces in this region are themselves the cause of insecurity and turmoil."

Iran's armed forces have an important mission, and they will undertake timely action to defend Iran's national interests and security.

In further comments the speaker of Majlis said: "At this sensitive time when the Iranian nation has staunchly stood up to America's excesses and hegemonic policies, we expect Iranian media and top media executives to have a clear and good understanding of the current economic conditions within the country.
