Iran Press/Europe: Iran's Foreign Minister has declared that the world is currently facing its most disgraceful moral and humanitarian crisis, attributing the Israeli genocidal regime's assault on Gaza to decades of global inaction regarding the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.

Addressing the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva on Monday, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian affirmed Iran's unwavering commitment to upholding human rights and dignity based on national and Islamic principles.

Over the past 140 days, more than 100,000 individuals have been killed, injured, or buried under debris in Gaza and the West Bank, with survivors facing imminent risks of starvation and illness, the foreign minister highlighted. Amir-Abdollahian stressed that genocide and atrocious crimes must not be normalized.

The Iranian diplomat criticized the full-fledged support of the United States and some of its allies for the Zionist regime, labeling it as complicity in genocide. He called on the United Nations Human Rights Council to hold the Zionist regime and its supporters accountable.

Furthermore, Iran's Foreign Minister emphasized that the failure to prosecute Israeli leaders over the past eight decades has perpetuated the occupation and violence carried out by this regime. He urged serious consideration of prosecuting and penalizing those responsible for grave international crimes against Palestinians, advocating for their inclusion on the agenda of international bodies, particularly the International Criminal Court.

The foreign minister highlighted the challenges facing the international community in achieving human rights goals, pointing to the systematic and extensive "humanicide" by Israel, which he referred to as an apartheid regime.

He criticized the United States and its allies for their support of Israel, which he characterized as complicity in genocide.

Amir-Abdollahian called for the trial and punishment of those responsible for serious international crimes against Palestinians, emphasizing the need for accountability.

He also criticized Western states for their double standards on women's rights and highlighted Iran's efforts in combating terrorism.

The foreign minister condemned the use of terrorism as a tool by certain powers, including the United States, and called on Western countries to address Islamophobia.

He stressed the importance of respecting national, cultural, and religious values in promoting human rights.

"In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that the fundamental policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is always rooted in interaction and dialogue. The Islamic Republic of Iran declares its steadfast commitment to the policy of cooperation and interaction as a central pillar of its foreign policy. It will leverage its national capacities to uphold and advance human rights in accordance with its religious values, constitution, and legal obligations. The country will spare no efforts in this regard," he concluded.
