Iran Press/ Iran news: In a message to his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, President Pezeshkian offered his condolences to him and the people of that country, as well as the families of the victims of the incident.
The Iranian president wished speedy recovery for those injured in the crash.
The Azerbaijani airliner crashed in Kazakhstan’s city of Aktau earlier on Wednesday while it was en route from Baku to Grozny, according to Azeri media outlets. Initial reports say at least 30 people have been killed.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei also expressed sympathy and extended condolences to the governments and people of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, especially to the families of those affected.
