Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson condemned the Israeli attack on journalists' vehicles in Gaza.

Iran PressIran news: Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, condemned the deliberate targeting of a journalists’ vehicle near the Nuseirat refugee camp in the center of the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the killing of five journalists.

Noting that journalists and media personnel working in conflict areas, along with their equipment, should be immune from any attack as civilian persons and objects under international humanitarian law, especially the Third Geneva Convention of 1949 and the Additional Protocols of 1977, Baghaei emphasized that the action of the occupying forces in attacking the journalists’ vehicle is undoubtedly a war crime, and the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court should add this new crime to the case file of serious crimes committed in occupied Palestine.

Referring to the martyrdom of more than 200 media professionals during the 15-month genocide in Gaza, the Foreign Ministry spokesman described the killing of media professionals by Israel as a way to stop informing global public opinion about the severity and scope of the crimes committed against the Palestinian people.

He also warned that the continuation and severity of gross violations of international humanitarian law in Gaza and the lack of an appropriate response from competent international institutions to them have seriously undermined the foundation of norms related to the laws of war.
