Iranian President said that the group of the signature of the country's nuclear deal, known as the P5+1, can be revived within the agreement's framework.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking on Wednesday morning at a cabinet session Hassan Rouhani referred to his trip to New York and said all of Iran's enemies, including the United States, the Israeli regime and Saudi Arabia had declared that the 5+1 Group is dead, but much of the discussions on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly centered around reviving the 5+1 Group.

“The P5+1 was based on an agreement (the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) and if they want to work within its framework, it is fine for us. P4+1 convened in New York, and it could be P5+1,” he said according to Iran Press.

The deal formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was clinched in July 2015 by Iran and the P5+1 group of countries, including the US, France, Britain, China, Russia, and Germany.

On May 8, 2018, the United States announced its withdrawal from the deal and imposed severe sanctions against Iran.

President Rouhani also said he did not completely agree with French President Emmanuel Macron's proposals in New York, but in totality, the French proposal was sound and its basic premises were logical.

President Rouhani also said in just 24 hours in New York US President Donald Trump announced twice that he was toughening US sanctions against Iran. However, the French President Macron was saying the Americans "were ready for negotiations with Iran."

President Rouhani poignantly added: "I turned to Macron and told him shall I believe you or shall I believe the US president who is tightening the sanctions on my country."

He also said he wanted to thank French President Emmanuel Macron who genuinely tried in the 48 hours he was in New York to mediate between Tehran and Washington although his efforts were ultimately unsuccessful, and no negotiations took place between Iran and US, principally because of White House's intransigence and unreasonable stance.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said no one can deny that Iran has defended the oppressed and fought US-backed terrorists in this region.

Rouhani added, “The anti-Iranian lobby had set a plot to tell the people around the world that Iran has begun a tension in the critical Persian Gulf region.”

He continued, “It was necessary for us to foil this plot and tell people around the world that those who have created these problems in the region are the same people who have been savagely bombarding the innocent people of Yemen.”  101/211
