Iran, Russia agree to complete Rasht-Astara railway

Tehran (IP) - The deputy head of the country's Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructures Company (CDTIC) announced Iran's agreement with Russia to complete the Rasht-Astara railway.

Moscow (IP)- Referring to the joint effort of Tehran and Moscow to speed up the completion of the North-South Corridor, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council said that the Rasht-Astara railway will create a strategic change in trade and goods transit in the region.

On Friday, Iran, Azerbaijan Republic, and Russia signed a declaration at the end of the first trilateral meeting on the development of the North-South international transport corridor in Baku, based on which the three countries will be able to exceed their transit cargo up to 30 million tons.
