A representative of the Palestinian Hamas Islamic resistance movement, has emphasised that the upcoming deal of the century is not for the benefit of regional peoples and nations.

Iran Press/ Middle East: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Saturday, Khaled Ghodumi, a representative of the Palestinian Hamas movement commented on the fact that both Egypt and Jordan have opposed the so-called 'Deal of the Century'.

Ghodumi said: "Egypt was one of the backbones of the Arab issues and a good supporter of the Palestinian cause, and Egypt is a neighbour of Gaza. We have been informed by Egypt that Cairo has taken a positive position on the 'Deal of the Century'."

Ghodumi added: "This 'Deal of the Century' has not been revealed publicly. Nobody knows the details of the Deal of the Century, except perhaps the one who drafted the deal -- that is [US president] Donald Trump. Secondly there are terms of references internationally accepted and also accepted by Egypt and Jordan. I think this is a very important stance taken by Egypt and Jordan."

Ghodumi went on to say: "Thirdly, the Jordanians are the custodians of the Holy shrines in al-Quds (Jerusalem). The Deal of the Century, as rumour has it, requires compromise on al-Quds (Jerusalem). So How can Jordan agree to that? So I hope that the officials of the Arab world would become convinced that such conferences as the Deal of the Century is not for the benefit of the peoples and nations of the region, including the Palestinian people." 101/211
