Syria’s air defense forces have repelled an Israeli attack near the city of al-Quneitra .

Syria’s air defense forces have reportedly thwarted  an Israeli attack near the city of al-Quneitra  some 40 kilometers of Damascus) in the Golan Heights

The Israeli air strike was delivered at military positions near the settlements of Hodor, Tell Kurum and Jbaa.

A Syrian military source told  that Israeli warplanes had fired several missiles. Some of them were downed. He said the attack had incurred only material damage, no one had been hurt.

On May 10, Syria’s army downed dozens of missiles fired from Israeli warplanes at army positions near the city of al-Baath in the Golan Heights. This attack was part of a more massive Israeli strike. The Russian defense ministry said back then that the Israel Defense Forces had fired more than 70 missiles at Syria’s territory under the pretext of shelling of its positions in the Golan Heights. Israel used 28 F-15 and F-16 warplanes to deliver the strike.

Recently, Syrian air defences downed two Israeli missiles in the Kisweh region.

The attack took place shortly after Israeli missiles targeted Syrian army positions in the Kisweh area south of the capital city Damascus.

In the previous  months , Syria  announced that several of its military bases located in the provinces of Hama and Aleppo have come under missile fire.

Over the past few years, the Israeli military has launched sporadic attacks against various targets on Syrian soil, in assaults slammed by Syria as attempts to boost terrorist groups who have been suffering heavy defeats on the battlefield with Syrian government forces.
