Hussein Amir Abdollahian, assistant and aide on international affairs to the speaker of the Iranian parliament, has held the Al-e-Khalifa regime responsible for the fast-deteriorating health of Bahrain's most prominent Shia religious scholar, Sheikh Issa Ghasem.

According to an Iran Press report, Amir Abdollahian speaking on Tuesday, emphasized that the Al-e-Khalifa regime refused to provide timely medical treatment for the ailing Sheikh Issa Ghasem , during the long period of time he has spent in Bahraini jails.

Amir Abdollahian said:  "The ruling regime in Bahrain is responsible for the repercussions of the failing health of this most prominent religious scholar'.

Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Ghasem, Bahrain’s top Shia cleric, travelled to London on Monday due to deteriorating health, according to his aides. There are reports that he is suffering from cancer, and he is in London to receive medical treatment.

Also, Jalal Firooz, a former Bahraini Member of Parliament, said on Sunday that transferring Sheikh Issa Ghasem to London for treatment is a sign of nervousness of the Al-e-Khalifa regime.

Meanwhile, seminary students and scholars from countries all around the world   gathered in  the Iranian holy city of Qom to raise awareness of the brutality of the ruling Royal Family against the people of  Bahrain, and in particular, top Shia cleric, Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Ghasem.

The Bahraini people are demanding the  release   of Sheikh Issa Ghasem ,  who has been under house arrest for more than  two years.

This cleric has been under house arrest by agents of the Bahrain regime for months, Firouz said, adding that Al Khalifa has now agreed with his transfer to London out of nervousness, but pretends that the decision was a favor by the King.
