Tehran (IP) - The Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami has said that Iranians don't need the US help in combating the Coronavirus.

Iran PressIran News: Responding to a question by Iran press News Agency regarding the US behavior to Iran and declaring its readiness to help the Iranian people to combat the Coronavirus, IRGC commander Major General Hossein Salami said: "If the US citizens need help, we can help them, but we don't need the US help."

"The Americans are the enemy of the Iranian nation and have never been well-wishing of us," said Salami, who spoke today at the inauguration ceremony of the IRGC's biological defense drill against the Coronavirus.

"The US president called the Iranians as terrorists. It put the nation under the pressure of economic siege to face their livelihood problems," Salami highlighted.

"The US claim to help Iran is nothing more than a lie and demagoguery because the US itself is currently struggling with the virus and unable to support its own people", the commander underscored.

Referring to IRGC facilities to combat Corona, the IRGC commander said, "We established field hospitals and can move these hospitals to places where there are more infections. Now, about 10 of these hospitals have expanded to the most infected provinces, and we are ready to launch more in the future."

He also referred to the IRGC's experience in the fight against chemical warfare and said: "At the same time, the fight against biological warfare, which is much more complex, has always been on the IRGC's agenda, and from the beginning, we have tried to prepare ourselves to deal with the threats of a biological attack, and the spread of corona has led us to test in a real war what we had prepared." 104/2027
