Coinciding with Palestinian Prisoners Day, crowds of demonstrators assembled outside 10 Downing Street to voice anger over Britain’s policies toward Israel and its alleged complicity in ongoing violations against the Palestinian people. Protesters chanted slogans urging the U.K. Government to stop supporting what they described as “Israeli crimes” and demanded justice for those held in detention by Israeli regime.
Advocates for justice carried flags of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Lebanon, signaling solidarity with nations supporting Palestinian rights. Parallel demonstrations were also held outside the Foreign Office and the British Parliament before converging near the Prime Minister’s Office for a unified rally.
Participants accused the U.K. of bearing historical responsibility for Palestinian suffering since the partition that followed Britain’s mandate over Palestine. A symbolic theater performance portraying the inhumane treatment of Palestinians by Zionist forces deeply affected the crowd and aimed to raise public awareness.
Speaking to Iran Press, Felix, a participant, said: “My message to the Palestinian people is that nations around the world are awakening from their ignorance because of your hardships. I’m here because I stand against racism.” Another demonstrator, Olga, explained the artwork she held: “This represents the children of Palestine.”
The event concluded with a march through central London, which led to tense moments as the police struggled to manage the spontaneous procession. Protesters reiterated their core demand — the immediate release of Palestinian prisoners held by Israeli regime.
