Amidst ongoing negotiations in Islamabad facilitated by Pakistan, Iranian university professor Mohammad Marandi stated that Iran has "absolutely no trust" in the Trump regime due to past dishonesty and secret conspiracies to attack Iran, despite simultaneous negotiations.

Professor Marandi, speaking in an interview with Iran Press, characterized the current situation as a "battle between good and evil," with the Trump regime representing evil. He highlighted that Iran engaged in negotiations to demonstrate the other side's dishonesty and to ascertain their willingness to act in good faith. Marandi stated that the U.S. launched the recent war after previous negotiations had shown progress, citing Omani mediators.

Despite the lack of trust, Iran is participating in the talks to show the international community its willingness to de-escalate tensions. However, Marandi stressed that Iran's commitment is conditional on the Trump regime abiding by its agreements. "If they abide by their commitments, we will abide by our commitments; if they don't, we won't," he stated, adding that Iran is prepared to return to conflict if necessary.

Marandi asserted that the "axis of resistance" and the Islamic Republic of Iran are more powerful than imagined, citing the resilience of the people in Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq. He concluded by placing the decision on the survival of the global economy on the Trump regime, questioning whether they would allow it to survive or choose to crash it for the sake of the current leadership in Tel Aviv.
