Following the martyrdom of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iran's Assembly of Experts appointed Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei to lead the affairs of Muslims.
The International Conference on Islamic Thought and Resistance is an annual program organized by the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. Attendees come from various African countries, including Niger, Cameroon, Chad, and the host nation, Nigeria. The event prioritizes raising awareness, campaigning for justice, and supporting oppressed people.
Speaking at the event, young activist Imran Sheme said that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not wait for or expect help from any country other than its own people. "Iran does not rely on individuals, regardless of their rank," he said. He added that this principle has made the Islamic Republic unshakable despite nearly 50 years of sanctions and the assassination of its scientists and leaders.
Jummai Karofi, a survivor of the 2015 Zaria massacre who still bears gunshot wounds and lost her sons in the attack, spoke about the massacre and the importance of defending Islamic leadership.
Prominent activist Jamil Musawi Othman delivered a speech on the effects of spreading false news, using the Zaria massacre as a case study. He warned supporters of resistance to avoid being misled by fake news or narratives created by mainstream media outlets controlled by the world's arrogant powers.
Nusaiba Ibrahim, another female Islamic scholar and activist, spoke about the effects of Western imperialism on Africa.
Zeenah Ibrahim, the wife of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, delivered a powerful speech on the mission of human beings on earth. She said that humans were created by Allah to serve Him alone, and serving Allah means complying with and obeying all His rules. She added that it is a duty upon all humans to fight injustice and oppression, just as all the prophets of God and all 12 Imams did.
Lectures on various topics related to standing firmly on the path of resistance were delivered by both male and female scholars and activists. The participants reaffirmed their allegiance to the new Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, as well as to Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. The participants chanted slogans in support of Iran, waved flags of the Islamic Republic and Palestine, and condemned the United States and Israel.
