Last night, the West Asian region and Iran were witnessing important developments. The most important headlines are as follows.

Iran’s President Pezeshkian Condemns Insult to Pope Leo XIV, Says Desecration of Jesus ‘Unacceptable’. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has strongly condemned what he described as an insult to Pope Leo XIV, stating that the desecration of Jesus Christ is unacceptable to any free person.

Antony Blinken, the Secretary of State in the Biden administration, acknowledged that Trump has put himself in a very difficult situation by launching a war against Iran.

Rajab Safarov, head of the Center for Contemporary Iranian Studies in Russia, announced that the United States, by blocking the Strait of Hormuz, is turning almost the entire world against itself.


Alexander Stubb, President of Finland, highlighted that Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz effectively functions as a 'de facto nuclear weapon' due to its strategic importance in global energy and supply chains. 

Colonel Daniel Davis, a retired officer and foreign policy analyst, stated: "A naval blockade will not force Iran to surrender, just as no other measure could."

Bernie Sanders, U.S. Democratic Senator, wrote on his X page: "Trump is now attacking the Pope, who has spoken out against war, while at the same time publishing a picture of himself as a messianic savior."

A spokesman for Turkey’s ruling party said that the unjust attack by the United States and the Israeli regime on Iran would have very serious consequences for the world.


Sirens sounded in Ras Naqoura and several towns in northern Israel due to fear of a drone infiltration.
Meanwhile, two Israeli airstrikes targeted the towns of Mashghara and Sohmor in the Beqaa Valley, eastern Lebanon.

One Israeli soldier was killed and three others wounded in battles in southern Lebanon.  A total of 154 officers and soldiers have been injured in southern Lebanon since last Thursday.
