Iranian Defense Minister in reaction to British Marines action in seizing the Iranian Grace 1 supertanker said that Iran can't tolerate British piracy.

Iran Press/Iran news: General Hatami's comments come after the British Marines seized the Grace 1 supertanker, carrying Iranian oil, in the Strait of Gibraltar, claiming it was headed to Syria, Iran Press reported.

General Hatami who spoke in 'Shahid Darvishi Marine Industry' in Southern Port city of 'Bandar Abbas' to deliver 'Haydar' patrol boat to Iranian Police Marine Border Forces, said that Britain action in seizing the Iranian Grace 1 supertanker in the Strait of Gibraltar is against all international law and regulation and it is also against EU countries commitments to Iran in the framework of JCPOA, it is an act of piracy and Iran can't bear this action.

Iranian Defense Minister noted to Iranian Armed forces efforts in recent years in a campaign against piracy in the world and stressed that Iran can't tolerate UK piracy against Iranian supertanker.  

General Hatami reminded to Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) shooting down US intruding spy drone Global Hawk and said this action was a message to the world that Iran never neglected anything related to the security of its border and defend its air and water borders powerfully.    

On June 23, an intruding American spy drone has been shot down in Iran's southern coastal province of Hormozgan. Iran also refrained from shooting down a US plane with 35 people on board that was accompanying the US spy drone.
