Iranian First VP said that his country has been the guarantor of Persian Gulf's security for centuries and today as the biggest country adjacent to this international waterway, provides and ensures the security, peace and stability of the region.

Iran Press/Iran news: Eshaq Jahangiri who travelled to the Island of Kish in the Persian Gulf to attend  '2019 Hackahealthon', told reporters and journalists on arrival: "Iran will take any step necessary to defend its national security."

Describing US pressure and sanctions against the Iranian people as "cruel, inhuman, going against human rights and a form of economic terrorism", Iran's First Vice President added: "In contrast to US officials' claims, sanctions put heavy pressures on the everyday life of ordinary Iranians and people face many difficulties," Iran Press reported. 

He added: "One of the difficulties for Iranian people as a result of US imposed sanctions is provision of medicines and importing medical equipment and goods and this problem has been created directly as a result of Washington's policies against Tehran."

First Vice President Jahangiri describe Persian Gulf as a strategic region for the Islamic Republic of Iran and stressed that "Iran is committed to the protection of Persian Gulf's security, peace, and freedom to navigate the waterway as always."

Jahangiri warned that Iran's red line is any measure against Iranian national interests, vowing that "Iran will take any step necessary to protect and defend its national security." 101/211/205
