Commander of Iran’s army said that saving people's life is of utmost importance in flood-hit districts.

Iran Press/Iran news: Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi added that saving people's life, providing food and health services, and accommodation for them are the most important issues in flood-hit districts at the present time.

Major General Mousavi made the remarks during his visit to Golestan Province on Sunday, Iran Press reported

"Transporting people from flood-hit districts to safe places and some other important actions have been carried out in the recent days," Commander of Iran’s army noted.

Also the top commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari has traveled to the flood-affected areas to inspect relief operations there and speed up handling for the rescue efforts.

A state of emergency also has been declared in the southwestern Iranian province of Khuzestan amid the threat of new flooding.

Heavy rains triggered raging torrents of water in 25 of Iran’s 31 provinces on March 19 and many flooded areas are in the emergency situation.

The death toll from the recent flash floods across the country currently stands at 42, said Ahmad Shojaee, the head of Iran's Forensic Medicine Organization. 105/201
