Iranian women claim title at world Taekwondo president cup

Iranian women's national taekwondo team was crowned at the 3rd World Taekwondo President's Cup Asian Region, underway in Iranian Island of Kish in the Persian Gulf.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian women's national taekwondo team at the 3rd World Taekwondo President's Cup Asian featured praiseworthy displays of spinning kicks and fast kicking technique.

Gaining three gold and five silver medals, with an aggregate point of 641, Iran was crowned champion in the women's senior event, Iran Press reported.

Uzbekistan ranked second with three gold and two silver medals (giving it an aggregate point of 484). Kazakhstan stood third with 148 points.

The Third World Taekwondo President's Cup kicked off on February 28 and lasted until 3 March, at Kish Olympic Sports Complex in the southern Iranian island of Kish.

This is a G2 event where first to third athletes will add 20, 12, and 7.2 points respectively to their Olympics ranking.    104/211
