Iran Press/Iran news:  In an exclusive interview with Iran Press international news agency on Sunday, the deputy of maritime affairs of port and marine organization (PMO), Hadi Haghshenas said one possible way of development for the country is through development of our ports and maritime industries.

Haghshenas said when we talk about ports and shipping, it is wrong to think of loading and unloading of freight. But rather we mean all industries associated with ports and shipping.
Hagshenas added: "In terms of water borders and the economic potentials, Iran stands among the top 17 countries of the world." However he went on to say that in terms of the navy and fleets the country's ranking is almost 21 in an international level which should also be reduced to 17 through the flourishing ship-making the industry, It also will be necessary that the banks together with PMO should provide the builders with reasonable and cheap financial aides and facilities.

Haghshenas also said that the universities should educate the highly educated sailors and mariners. He also called for the development of the Iranian ports. Calling Chabahr port as one of the greatest ports of Iran, Haghshenas said that Iran's PMO is responsible for shipping infrastructure while the privet sector is accountable for the superstructure.
